We tend to think we can always do better and give more, taking on more than we can handle for fear of disappointing others – and ourselves. The problem is, you can only sustain a constantly on-the-go lifestyle for so long before you experience burnout or other health issues. And to make matters worse, stress and harmful thought patterns often contribute to serious physical conditions, including GI disorders or chronic pain.
Before we give our best to others, we need to give our best to ourselves first.
